Joint Golf Day raises £10,000

1st September 2011     Beedles Lake Golf Club, East Goscote, Leicestershire

Those of you who played and/or attended dinner at Beedles on our Golf Day last Thursday will know that the event went very well. I am just writing to say thanks to all who participated and came for dinner on the day. The weather was excellent and the total raised jointly between the three clubs was £10,000 which is fantastic. Thanks also to all the sponsors for their contributions. The nominated charities for this event were Rainbows and Lions International Sightfirst programme.

This golf event hosted jointly by the three clubs is now becoming an annual event and I’m sure you all want it to continue every year. Its especially nice to see all three clubs pooling resources and witness the splendid teamwork between them. To this end I must acknowledge the hard work put in by three people, one from each of the clubs in organising the event. They are Nish Bathia for Rothley & Soar Valley, Bikhu Hindocha for Leicester Charnwood and of course our own Ashwin Mody.

Thurnby Lions Cricket Day

28th August 2011     Banks Cricket Club, Leicester

The Cricket event went well and I am just writing to say thanks to all who participated and came to support on the day. We all had a good time. We made a surplus of £50 on the ticket sales and we have sponsorship of £651 so far. So the total raised is £701 which is fantastic.
